summer begins
yellow roses
in the blue vase
by windows
in the sunroom
early light yellow roses in the sunroom

POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN
one post at a time
with hope and beauty
new work grows
new arrangement
for flowers from stores
carnations last
humid July day
no need to water
the Christmas cactus
dragonfly rests
for a moment
on the tree branch
long enough for me
to see each wing
rain-silence
how well daylilies
and hosta grow
tree with full leaves
providing shade
comfort of faith
