fall beauty
leaves and light
memories and today
POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN

each flower
a star for a time
daylilies
yellow chrysanthemum
on an old green chair
in the yard and an orange
pumpkin near the door
fall stillness
POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN
yard work
rest a few minutes
in an old chair
light through leaves
on old trees
spruce tree branches
by the windows
each day a painting
Ellen Grace Olinger
WestWard Quarterly, Winter 2021
days grow shorter
gentle turning
of windmills
gardens growing
long before we came here
how deep the roots
must be and decades old
planted in God’s earth
